Aidan has received the Naval Research Enterprise Internship!

Congratulations! Aidan will be working this summer in the Naval Research Lab in Washington DC on the following topic: “Engineering MAX Phases for Application to Hypersonics: Demonstrate the use of thermochemical strategies for enhancing the oxidation resistance and thus operation temperature of MAX phases during mechanical testing at ambiant and elevated temperatures (via Joule or laser heating) under controlled environnement.”

This ten-week intern program is designed to provide opportunities for undergraduate and graduate students to participate in research, under the guidance of an appropriate mentor, at a participating Navy laboratory.

Aidan will be working with the Applications of Smart Materials Section and is very excited for the opportunity to work in such a great place with highly regarded scientists!
