The thermomechanical history has a large effect on the future mechanical performance. Indeed, two samples macroscopically equivalent but from two different thermomecanical paths will have different mechanical responses. Despite the importance for improved model prediction, hereditary effects are always disregarded which may have tremendous consequences on safety and costs.
